Last spring [2015] Trillium Creek Primary welcomed Maggie Englund as our Artist in Residence. The goal of our project was to come together as a school community where each child would contribute to a work of art that represents our school. To achieve this goal, Mrs. Englund led all students in creating a beautiful eight panel mural made out of tissue paper, glue and painted papers.

Third-, fourth- and fifth-grade student begin journey learning to play strings. Between the harmonic sounds of the orchestra, shiny, sleek wood of the instruments and ‘cool’ status that comes with being a part of West Linn-Wilsonville’s Strings Program, it’s no wonder so many students have picked up a violin or cello over the years.

Everybody loves a good rock concert, which is exactly what friends and family received Wednesday, Oct. 28 when Arts and Technology High School students put on a show, playing classic and current rock hits in the school’s Kiva — the school’s multipurpose performing arts building.

Scholastic Art Awards Gold Key Exhibition WHS artists Lya Chandler, Sarah Frechette, Emma Jeffries, Sarah Petersen, and Nicole Willcock receive Gold Keys at the regional stage of blind adjudication for the national Scholastic Art Awards program.

WHS pioneer leaving after 22 distinguished years Sue Schreiner’s impact at Wilsonville High School is impossible to measure. Considered one of the school’s “pilgrims,” Schreiner has been at WHS since it first opened its doors in 1995 when there were fewer than 500 students.

Besides being a staunch supporter of MAP, founding member Lynne Detrick, who passed away form cancer in December of 2016, also had the desire to help Oregon State University become a world-class music school. The Detrick family has donated $2 million dollars to the University in her honor, and the new Lynne Detrick Hall will house the new arts and education complex.
